Ed Collins is a hall of fame tennis coach from the University of San Diego (USD) Men's Tennis Program and he now coaches at Peninsula Tennis Club and loves to give back. He would like to help get more new tennis rackets in players' hands. Ed's amazing 501(c)(3) foundation, Collins Arts & Sport Foundation (CASF), in association with USTA Jr. Team Tennis, is offering your child an opportunity to "earn" a new tennis racquet.
How? By doing some hours of community service, then writing a brief essay about the experience. Here are the steps to earning a new tennis racquet:
Step 1 -- Apply by emailing Conan Lorenzo (conanlorenzo@gmail.com) and include your team tennis coaches' name, describing your child's proposed community service project.
Step 2 -- Participants will be selected and notified by CASF.
Step 3 -- Complete community service (of your choice) and write an essay.
Step 4 -- Go to Racquet Stringing Workshop (in La Jolla) to select your racquet.
